It’s morning
Time for my daily exercise.
I lay down my mat. Step onto it. Standing straight with hands at my sides, eyes closed, feet together and… I… breathe.
With each focused breath I check in with my body. It leaves clues I miss in the busyness of daily goings on.
Tension in the shoulders, discomfort in the upper back a bit of pain in my right hand. I can feel them while I am focused in these few moments before I stretch. With this information I can directed my efforts a bit more towards relaxing and relieving the unease in these areas.
It’s a kind of self check for me.
Lots of seemingly small stressful things can accumulate without us noticing. And this is just a way to ferret them out without knowing exactly what’s wrong. With our bodies keeping track of them all if we check in with it we will start noticing how much tension we are really carrying around.
Even when I am not exercising I use my breath to check in with my body.
Nowadays sometimes I notice that my shoulders are closing when the tension is felt in my neck. It’s like I can sense the feeling much earlier and so I can respond far sooner than in the past by intentionally relaxing my shoulders right away.
Just a breath…
We’re doing it right now
There it goes again!
Another one just happened.
Consider consciously using it to your advantage. While standing, sitting or laying down.
It’s going to happen anyway,
Here it comes…
Yup… there goes another one.
If I have said it before it’s ok. I repeat the things that matter. And this matters for me. So, consider breathing for supercharging all your daily routines. It just may be worth it to you too.
